Hot cinnamon Buns/Rolls(Eggless)

When I was in US  I  watched a cinnamon roll commercial  on tv and thought about giving it a try sometime. As time passed so did the idea of making them at home.

After 5 years ,I watched a show on tv  about best deserts place in US and what did I see?? “Cinnamon Rolls”

This time I did make them at home . Happen to find a very simple recipe on internet through Prema’s Culinary but modified  it according to my taste

Ingredients:

3 cups Plain flour

3 tbsp melted butter

3/4 tbsp Active dry yeast

1 and 1/2 tbsp Sugar

3/4 cup Luke warm Milk

Oil 1 tsp

2 tsp ground  Cinnamon

1/2 tsp ground Nutmeg

1/4 cup packed  Brown Sugar

1 tbsp  softened  butter for brushing

How I made it:

1.Warm the milk, add the yeast , 1/2 tsp sugar and  set aside for 5 minutes.

2. Mix the flour, melted butter, rest of sugar and then the yeast mixture

3. Add extra milk if required and knead into a soft dough ,apply oil and  keep it in warm place.

4. Let it sit for 2 to 3 hrs to rise.

5. AFter 3 hours knead the dough and  spread into  a 12 x 12 square

6.Spread the softened butter and sprinkle ( cinnamon+brown sugar mix) over it .

7.Roll the dough tightly into a cylindrical shape and cut into equal parts and keep them in a baking tray or a bowl

7.Bake in a preheated oven at  200 C for 20 minutes

Glaze:

I made a simple vanilla glaze.

2 tbs 1 Confectioner sugar/Icing Sugar

1 tsp butter

1 tsp vanilla essence

3 to 4 tsp water/milk

Mix all together and pour on cold cinnamon rolls 🙂
