Evening in Gujrati style

Ask me about Gujrat ,the first thing comes to my mind will be ‘Narendra Modi ‘

I was watching Narendra Modi’s women empowerment speech the other day and got inspired to make a gujrati dish (Obviously I cannot get inspired to make a speech or become a political leader right now.)

Hence the below “Dhokla”

They have been my absolute favorite from my childhood.

Channa daal flour/Besan 2 to 2 n half
1 1/2 cup curd
1/2 tbs oil
Baking soda 1 pinch
Green chillies 2 finely chopped
Tumeric 1/2 tsp
Eno – fruit salt 1 sachet
salt and sugar to taste
1 tbs Grated coconut
1 tbs corriander leave
For tempering
1 tsp mustard seeds
1tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp sesame seeds
1 strand curry leaves
1 red chilly

How I made it
1. Mix curd,besan,salt,sugar,oil,baking soda and let it sit for 15 minute
2.Add green chillies,Eno and pour it immediately in vessel till its half ( the dhokla rises) and keep in pressure cooker without weight .
3.Steam cook for 10 minutes and let it cool
4.Heat 1/2 tbs oil and add tempering ingredients.
5.Garnish with corriander leaves ,shredded coconut and serve along with mint chutney and tangy tamarind chutney
